Open wounds of a body are closed mainly using surgical sutures. Recent advance of technology enabled biodegradation of sutures and drug loading on the suture. The drug loaded suture, however, still has unsolved problems such as weakened physical strength, few choice of drugs, and etc.

To overcome these issues, our research team is developing drug-loaded suture systems that is composed of original surgical suture and drug-loaded nanofibrous sheet.
