STRIP SENSOR FOR SELF-DIAGNOSIS OF MULTIPLE DISEASES
Diabetes has become one of the major diseases over the past decades. However, the self monitoring of the disease is conducted by analyzing blood sample from the patient. The invasiveness of the current method brings inconvenience and pain to the patients, and becomes a possible route for disease transmission and infection.
Tear is thought to be a potential alternative to the blood sample, several reports suggested correlation of tear and the blood concentration. In addition, it is reported that the quantity, and chemical composition of tear fluid also indicates sign of ocular complications caused by diabetes.
We are developing a strip-type sensor for self-diagnosis of multiple diseases.
